Engine CMAA

Symptoms:
- Rough idling and hesitation during acceleration
- Increased fuel consumption and reduced performance
- Check Engine Light (CEL) illumination
- Occasional misfires or stalling, especially when cold
- Difficulty starting the engine or uneven running on bi-fuel mode

Diagnosis:
- Scan for fault codes related to ignition coils, fuel injectors, or oxygen sensors
- Inspect spark plugs and ignition coils for wear or damage
- Check the condition and operation of the bi-fuel system components, including gas injectors and pressure regulators
- Perform a compression test to rule out mechanical issues
- Verify proper operation of the mass airflow sensor (MAF) and throttle body
- Examine vacuum lines and intake manifold for leaks

Fixes:
- Replace worn or faulty spark plugs and ignition coils to restore proper ignition
- Clean or replace clogged fuel injectors, especially in the bi-fuel system
- Repair or replace malfunctioning oxygen sensors to ensure correct fuel mixture
- Address any vacuum leaks by replacing damaged hoses or gaskets
- Service or replace the MAF sensor if readings are erratic or out of range
- Reset the engine control unit (ECU) after repairs to clear fault codes and adapt to new components
- Regularly maintain the bi-fuel system, including gas filters and pressure regulators, to prevent fuel delivery issues

Prevention:
- Follow the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals for spark plugs, ignition components, and fuel filters
- Use high-quality fuel and bi-fuel system additives to keep injectors clean
- Regularly inspect and maintain the bi-fuel system to avoid contamination or pressure problems
- Avoid prolonged idling and aggressive driving to reduce engine stress
- Keep the engine bay clean to prevent dirt and moisture from affecting sensors and electrical connections
- Schedule periodic diagnostic checks to catch early signs of component wear or failure
