- Verify timing belt condition and timing settings to ensure correct engine timing
- Look for oil leaks around valve cover gasket and other seals
- Conduct compression test to assess cylinder health and detect possible valve or piston ring issues
Fixes:
- Replace worn or fouled spark plugs and ignition components to restore proper spark
- Clean or replace clogged fuel filters and service injectors or carburetor jets
- Repair or replace damaged vacuum hoses to eliminate air leaks affecting mixture
