Symptoms:
- Loss of power and reduced acceleration
- Excessive smoke from the exhaust, especially black or blue smoke

Diagnosis:
- Perform an OBD-II scan to check for fault codes related to the turbocharger, EGR valve, or DPF system.
- Inspect the turbocharger for signs of wear, shaft play, or oil leaks.
- Check the EGR valve for clogging or malfunction, which can cause poor combustion.
- Examine the diesel particulate filter (DPF) for blockage or regeneration issues.
- Test the fuel injectors for proper spray pattern and leaks.
- Verify the condition of the intake and intercooler pipes for leaks or cracks.

Fixes:
- Clean or replace the EGR valve if clogged or faulty.
- Replace the turbocharger if worn or damaged.
- Perform a forced DPF regeneration or replace the DPF if severely blocked.
- Repair or replace faulty fuel injectors.
- Fix any intake or intercooler leaks to restore proper boost pressure.
- Regularly change engine oil and use manufacturer-recommended oil to prevent turbo and injector damage.

Prevention:
- Use high-quality diesel fuel and adhere to recommended service intervals.
- Avoid short trips that prevent the DPF from reaching regeneration temperature.
- Regularly service the EGR system and clean it if necessary.
- Monitor engine oil level and quality, changing it on schedule.
- Drive the vehicle at higher RPMs occasionally to help maintain turbocharger and DPF health.
- Address warning lights promptly to avoid further engine damage.
