Symptoms:

- Use a diagnostic scanner to read fault codes related to idle control or air intake
- Perform a vacuum test to ensure no leaks are affecting the idle control system
- Verify the throttle body is clean and functioning properly, as it works in conjunction with the AAC valve

Fixes:
- Clean the AAC valve thoroughly with appropriate throttle body cleaner to remove carbon deposits
- Replace the AAC valve if cleaning does not restore proper function or if the valve is mechanically faulty
- Repair or replace damaged wiring and connectors to ensure reliable electrical signals
- Clean the throttle body and ensure the throttle plate moves freely
- Reset the engine control unit (ECU) after repairs to clear fault codes and allow relearning of idle parameters

Prevention:
- Regularly service the intake system, including cleaning the throttle body and AAC valve every 30,000 to 50,000 km
- Use high-quality fuel to minimize carbon buildup
